About Sofiya
A math tutor who treats your student like a long-term investment
I'm a private math tutor based in Bellevue, WA with a B.S. in Applied Mathematics and a Computer Science minor (4.0 GPA, Summa Cum Laude). Before starting my private practice, I worked as a full-time instructor supporting students across K–12, honors, and AP courses.
My approach blends deep content knowledge with the science of learning — spaced repetition, active recall, interleaving, and structured challenge. Students don't just pass their classes; they build durable understanding, confidence, and momentum that carries into college and beyond.
- • 4.0 GPA in Applied Mathematics (Summa Cum Laude)
- • Specialized in honors, AP, and SAT math preparation
- • Experienced with ADHD, dyslexia, and twice-exceptional learners
- • Focus on long-term relationships with families, not short-term fixes

Deep math expertise, paired with the science of learning
Students succeed when instruction is both mathematically rigorous and thoughtfully designed. I use research-based methods — spaced repetition, active recall, interleaving, and calibrated challenge — so students develop flexible, transferable understanding rather than memorizing steps.
I work especially well with students who are bright but under-performing, perfectionistic, or navigating ADHD or learning differences. Sessions are structured, calm, and judgment-free — yet still academically demanding in the best possible way.
